We like to point out to you some of the most common signs you’ll find on shops:
Panetteria
: normally sells fresh bread, focaccia and pizza by the slice
Macelleria
: is a butcher
Salumeria
: delicatessen
Tabaccheria
: a “T “outside the shop where you can buy tobacco, stamps, parking vouchers or bus tickets but also charge your local mobile… sometimes also souvenirs such as postcards or magnets.
Edicola
: is the shop in which you buy papers and newpapers, magazines etc. often they are little kiosks
Libreria
is a book store while Biblioteca is the Italian for Library.
In the town center you have to look for the international "Libreria Luxemburg" (Piazza Carignano) where you will be able to find any kind of English book.
Supermarkets
are open all day from 8.30 am till 8 or 9 pm.
Some of them close on Wednesdays afternoon.
