You don’t need to speak Italian to enjoy the world of entertainment.
There are several venues in Torino where you would love to spend your free time. We suggest
- English movies: every Thursday evening you can watch movies in the original version at Cinema Massimo
- Teatro Regio in the central Piazza Castello performs opera, ballets and lyrical concerts
- Palaolimpico is where you will find major events in sport and live music
The city hosts main cultural events
throughout the year, including
- Salone internazionale del libro: famous book fair usually held in May
-
Salone internazionale del gusto: all Piedmontese flavours – along with the others – are celebrated every two years at the world’s largest food and wine event that has chosen Turin as its Headquarters
- MiToSettembreMusica transforms the city into a huge stage for one month
- Artissima: an international art exhibition held in November that brings in the city thousands of art lovers.
-
Paratissima: an international art exhibition too where new artists and designers animate the streets of San Salvario with music and performances
-
Luci d'Artista: from mid-November to January (Christmas Time), where contemporary major artists light up the city with their works, creating an open air gallery.

TIP: Italians go to the cinema especially on weekends but if they go during the week they choose the early show at 8 pm.
The last show is at 10.30 p.m. and on Wednesdays the entrance fee is reduced at half price. |
